Good day ,

I recently downloaded Trace mode Scada software.
Our company uses mainly Delta PLC equipment on our projects and we would like to ask you for the

Following so that we can do some pre-liminary tests on the software with our equipment .

a) We have checked and we don’t see any Delta PLC drivers in the software , could you send us

Those drivers so that we can do our test.

b) Do you have any instruction manuals on the setting up of your software that you can send us.

c) Does the software allow us the possibility of going on line with our plc and doing these tests.

Best regards

TRACE MODE perfectly works with DELTA PLC. You should connect it or through Modbus protocol or through Mitsubishi. The second way is better because it enables automatic mapping of PLC addresses to their Modbus addresses. We also have a training video on connectivity via Modbus at http://www.tracemode.com/products/drivers/modbus/in English.

You may try connecting to PLC using our free development software that you have already downloaded. The documentation for TRACE MODE contains section about Delta DVP.

Thank you for your reply.

We have tried to do the following test and have followed your training video and have the following questions.

1) After setting up the program to the following :

Type of PLC Delta DVP -20EX

Analogue input channel – D 1056(PRESENT VALUE OF ANALOG INPUT Channel 0)

2) We did a simple test to see if we could get Scada program to read analog input CH0 on plc and could not get the program working .

3) We checked PLC and can see program working from PC and can read input via plc program , so communication is working via program cable to PC , we are using a RS232/USB convertor , could this cause a problem , the PC
creates virtual com ports to communicate with PLC in this case the com port is Comport 20.

I would appreciate it if you could assist us in getting our program to work , I have attached a copy of our trace mode program .

Best regards

Hello!

In your project we have found two small mistakes and one inaccuracy:
err1. the description of the PLC register must contain the port index (it is less than 1 its nickname, e.g. port COM3 - index - 2, etc.)
err2. the COM port ASSIGNMENT field must be specified as Master (if the PLC is linked via MODBUS RTU);
inac3. in order to process data received from the PLC you need to link first the source (interrnal PLC register) to the TRACE MODE channel and then link the screen argument to the attribute Real Value of the desired channel.
